Can gravitation accelerate neutrinos?

چکیده
The Lagrangian equations of motion for massive spinning test particles (tops) moving on a gravitational background using general relativity are presented. The paths followed by tops are nongeodesic. An exact solution for the motion of tops on a Schwarzschild background which allows for superluminal propagation of tops is studied. It is shown that the solution becomes relevant for particles with small masses, such as neutrinos. This general result is used to calculate the necessary condition to produce superluminal motion in part of the trajectory of a small mass particle in a weak gravitational field. The condition for superluminal motion establishes a relation between the mass, energy and total angular momentum of the particle. PACS numbers: 04.20.Cv, 04.20.Jb, 04.90.+e, 14.60.St, 14.60.Lm

The Neutrinos, the Gravitation and the Gauge Formalism
The detection and the research of the neutrinos background of Universe are the attractive problems. This problems do not seem the unpromising one in the case of the high neutrinos density of Universe. It was offered before to use the low energy neutrinos background of Universe for the explanation of the gravitational phenomena with the quantum position attracting the Casimir’s effect for this. ...
متن کاملEffects of a torsion field on Big Bang nucleosynthesis
In this paper it is investigated whether torsion, which arises naturally in most theories of quantum gravity, has observable implications for the Big Bang nucleosynthesis. Torsion can lead to spin flips amongst neutrinos thus turning them into sterile neutrinos. In the early Universe they can alter the helium abundance which is tightly constrained by observations. Here I calculate to what exten...
متن کاملGravitation explains Faster-than-light Neutrinos
In a paper dated May 5, 2005, the author describes a new theory that unifies the curvature of spacetime, mass, gravitation, and general relativity in a single 4D theory, with m = f(x,y,z,t). The faster-than-light neutrinos discovered by the OPERA experiment at CERN CNGS and Gran Sasso Laboratory LNGS (Italia) is a direct consequence of this theory and has been predicted on April, 11, 2008 by th...
متن کاملThe Perfect Cosmological Principle and the Hubble Effect
A wide range of astronomical data are inconsistent with the expanding Universe theory. A more adequate framework is provided by the Seeliger-Einstein steady state cosmological model, in which the Hubble effect is a consequence of the energy degradation of photons due to the asymmetry of gravitational interaction of photons with the matter distributed in the front and back half-spaces. Gravitati...

These are extended notes of a series of lectures given at the XIth Brazilian School of Cosmology and Gravitation. They provide a selection of topics at the intersection of particle and astrophysics. The first part gives a short introduction to the theory of electroweak interactions, with specific emphasize on neutrinos. In the second part we apply this framework to selected topics in astrophysi...
